Kerwin Secures Over $1.15 Million in School Safety Grant Funding

HARRISBURG – Rep. Joe Kerwin (R-Dauphin) announced today that he secured more than $1.15 million in school safety funding to support students and schools in the 125th Legislative District.

These grants, which come from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD), will help strengthen school security; address school violence; and ensure students, teachers and staff have a safe environment to learn and succeed. It was renewed for the 2026-27 school year as part of the recently passed state budget.

“Keeping our students and educators safe is a priority, and I’m pleased to see these important resources coming back to our local schools and communities,” said Kerwin.

The school districts will receive the following amounts:

  • Central Dauphin School District: $667,686.
  • Upper Dauphin Area School District: $145,700.
  • Halifax Area School District: $140,668.
  • Millersburg Area School District: $132,268.
  • Dauphin County Technical School: $70,000.

The 125th Legislative District includes Berrysburg, Dauphin, Elizabethville, Gratz, Halifax, Lykens, Millersburg, Pillow, and Williamstown boroughs, as well as Halifax, Jackson, Jefferson, Lower Paxton, Lykens, Middle Paxton, Mifflin, Reed, Rush, Upper Paxton, Washington, Wayne, West Hanover, Wiconisco, and Williams townships.
