Grants Totaling $2 Million to Support Recreation in 125th District, Kerwin Says

HARRISBURG – More than $2 million in Community Conservation Partnerships Program grants awarded this week will further enhance parks and open spaces within the 125th District, according to Rep. Joe Kerwin (R-Dauphin).

Grants awarded under the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources program include:

• $530,000 to rehabilitate the community pool in Dauphin Borough.
• $257,500 to build out Conway Park in Lower Paxton Township with pickleball courts, pavilions, play equipment and other amenities.
• $481,000 to help Manada Conservancy buy 186 acres along Fleming Run Lane in Middle Paxton Township for passive recreation.
• $1 million for The Nature Conservancy to continue its purchase of 504 acres along Cemetery Road in Middle Paxton Township for open space and passive recreation.

“We are blessed to have beautiful parks and vistas in the 125th District,” Kerwin said. “These latest projects will build on that legacy and provide outdoor recreation for generations to come. I am proud to support these important projects in our community.”
